WIND TURBINE DESIGN and a glass of Chardonnay, oh my! That must mean it's Adults Only Night at Telus Spark, Calgary's new science centre. On the second Thursday of every month, the two-storey space opens its doors to the big kids, winning them over with music, food and drinks.
Although the evening has a party vibe, science takes centre stage. Attendees can learn about power grids by hooking up electrodes to miniature houses, or create stop-motion animations, emailing their fi nished masterpieces to friends and family. Many of the exhib- its are best enjoyed with a friend – especially those in the Being Human gallery, where participants learn how their bodies react to fl irting.
