we've got mail Cross-Border Shop Talk Re: Analyze This, "Wheels Across the Border" (April 2012) Over the last six years or so, I have purchased and imported three vehicles from the U.S. In my experience, when the Canadian dollar is strong, the car deals get better the farther south of the 49th you go. If you're prepared to go as far as, for example, Phoenix, you might be able to fi nd a really great deal. –Anonymous, posted on Westworld online Bolered Over Re: Roadside, "Boler Nation" (April 2012) Loved fi nding your Boler story and had no idea so few of these trailers were left. My neighbour has a cute little white Boler for summer overnight guests. –Canada's Boomergirl, posted on Westworld online Love Bolers! We have a vintage fibreglass motorhome, too – a 1964 Dodge Travco. –Myrtle Capri, posted on Westworld online Send your comments to: Letters, Westworld Alberta, Box 8180, Stn. I have researched purchasing vehicles in the U.S., specifi cally the Honda Pilot and the Ridgeline. A problem not mentioned in the article is vehicle registration – i.e. plates if you plan on driving the new vehicle to Canada. You can get temporary plates for driving from the border to your home city, but not on the U.S. side. The solution is to have the vehicle shipped to the border for pickup and customs clearance. The dealer can make these shipping arrangements. –Gerry, via email Editor's note: Thanks for your feedback, Gerry. While it's cer- tainly an option to have a U.S. vehicle shipped to the border, it's also possible to obtain a tem- porary licence plate from your U.S. dealership. You can then drive the vehicle back to Canada yourself, and use the temporary plate in Canada while you're completing the import process. Trophy Strife Re: Up Front, "Trophy Caseload" (April 2012) It doesn't look like your correspondent did her homework for the article on Barrhead's wildlife animal trophies. The Sundre museum is home to the Chester Mjolsness World of Wildlife collection. This collection has 150 trophies, among them a giraffe, elephant, hippo, rhino and polar bear. I have seen both and the one in Barrhead pales by comparison. –Vern Graham, via email More Tips, Please Re: Up Front, "How's Your Posture?" and "Practise Safe SIPDE" (April 2012) Thank you for including these safety tips in the magazine. I hope that you will continue to run such items. Regards, –J.T., via email WESTWORLD >> JUNE 2012 5 Congratulations to Jackie Mathieu of Edmonton, winner of the Westworld Fort McMurray contest.
