One, as a resort guest, there are more ameni- ties open to you. For example, they had drawing classes down in the hotel lobby. You also get special experiences at stores such as Sephora and Build-a- Bear, fit walks through the park in the mornings and Extra Magic Hours – special extended theme park hours – every day of the week. And one of the things we did for the first time this year was put our kids in Pinocchio's Workshop, the child care facility at the Grand Californian Hotel, while we went and had an adults' evening. It's open from 5 p.m. to midnight. FaVouriTe spoTs: One of our favourite activities was Animation Academy at the Disney California Adventure Park. An animation expert teaches a group lesson on how to draw a Disney character, and you get to keep your drawing. Olaf from Frozen was really popular. Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land, also in Disney California Adventure Park, was another huge favourite. It's the whole town of Radiator Springs from the movie. ere's a ride through the town and you race another car along a roller coaster. BesT eaTs: For character din- ing, our favourite was Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. e interaction with the charac- ters there is fabulous. One of our absolute favourites for the value and quality of the meal was the Paradise Garden Grill in Disney California Adventure Park. e Carthay Circle Restaurant is inside a replica of the original theatre where Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered in 1937. e ambience and food were lovely for a grown-up night out. For a wonderful snack place, check out the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland. ey sell fresh pineapple spears and juice, and they do a Dole Whip soft serve, which is a pineapple sorbet. It's pretty crazy how long people will stand in line because it's so delicious. Top Tip: is is so basic, but comfortable shoes!
