n August 9 and 10, make your merry way to Brooks, 110 kilometres
northwest of Medicine Hat, for the 11th Annual Brooks Medieval Faire,
which is expecting 4,000 attendees this year – many in surcoats and
chainmail. e Faire includes a "living village" with period furniture and sword
fighting, as well as costume contests, highland dancing, an artisan market and a
medieval feast (tickets sold separately in advance). But the main draw is the
International Invitational Jousting Tournament featuring some of the world's top
