Not to mention ancient Coast Salish village and burial sites dating back thousands of years. e park and its enveloping channels, bays and harbours are the focus of our sailing adventure. Our capable crew includes captain Greg Shea, fi rst mate Stephen Anstee, naturalist Fiona Hamersley C hambers and James McKer r icher, the one responsible for the mouth-watering scents con- stantly emanating from the cozy galley. Being a guy who likes to know where he's going, even though he doesn't most of the time, I asked captain Shea earlier in the day where we were headed. He meant it when he replied, "We'll see which way the wind blows." When you're aboard a 92-foot schooner, it's best not to fi ght the weather. at's the sailor's way. And we're lucky, because it's hard to make a bad choice around here. We're alone in Narvaez Bay, its waters rippled by a gentle breeze.
