Westworld Photographer Wins Gold Big shout out to Kurtis Kristianson of Spindrift Photography, who won a gold award at the 2015 Alberta Magazine Publisher's Awards for his gorgeous photo of Ghost Lake ice sailing (winter 2014). anks again for making us look so good, Kurtis! We All Love to Ski Re: "Break for the Hills," Spring 2015 MEMBER DEBBIE LOZEMAN, VIA EMAIL: I read with interest your article on ski trips in Alberta. Just wondering why you neglected to mention Castle Mountain Resort in southwest Alberta. is seemed like a huge oversight to me. ey are a great family-oriented hill, which we have enjoyed for years. ey have more than 78 trails on 1,416 hectares, and also three terrain parks. Not unlike the rest of the ski hills this sea- son, they really struggled with lack of snow and, unfortunately, had to close by early February. I really think they should have been included along with the other eight hills you mentioned. Our Big Fun Italian Wedding Wow! Hard to believe that AMA's "Funnest Wedding," celebrating our partnership with the Italian Centre, has come and gone – and everything went off with- out a hitch this February 28. e evening was filled with laughter, courtesy the zany improv troupe Die-Nasty, as well as singing, dancing and delicious eats catered by the Italian Centre Shop. We also gave away great prizes, including a weekend for two at the Fairmont Macdonald Hotel. If you missed out, not to worry: there are three Italian Centre Shop locations in Edmonton. Don't forget to show your AMA card to earn up to 2.5% in reward dollars.
