All in the Family
Re: President's Message, Fall 2014
MEMBER LESLIE L. PETRY, ASHMONT,
EDMONTON AND NORTH PORT, FLA.:
Hi Don, I've just read your message in the current
Westworld magazine. We always feel welcome and well-
treated whenever we drop into an AMA branch to renew
a licence or perform a search. But the family analogy
goes much further, to include "extended" family. As we
are fortunate to travel about this great continent, we
take advantage of CAA and AAA branches wherever we
go, to seek local advice, pick up a map or just use a safe,
clean washroom. Truly, AMA grants us entry to a giant
extended family from coast to coast and beyond.
MEMBER KAREN DUNN:
Hello there, Don. I am responding to your friendly article in the latest AMA magazine.
My rst interest in your company came from my Dad. And I still remember when, 50
years ago, my Mom bought me a bus ticket and sent me to take my driver training with
AMA in its north Edmonton o ce. It was my rst time alone in the city, and I stayed with
friends. I still remember how nicely the AMA sta treated me, especially my Scottish
driving instructor. He made sure I was successful, and I came home so excited with my
licence! My parents paid for my driver training. My Dad, especially, wanted me to have a
membership for safety and support when I was driving. He instructed me in how to
change a tire and how to keep the car. en I got to drive my parents' car for the rst
time with my very own licence. How exciting was that for a 16-year-old? I continued with
getting my two daughters driver training with you, because you are the best!
